In the previous versions (1.15 and lower) you had to register OMNITREND as such and each individual device to enable the communication. New process for the software registration: In order to get the full functionality of the software you have to register a device driver for each device type (e. g. VIBROTIP). All the different device drivers are ready for installation on the OMNITREND CD in form of so called OMT files(see directory OMT files). After the installation you will be asked for a registration password for the device driver. This process has to be carried out once. It will not be needed for future updates. Please note: If a user loads a device driver but does not register, then the device type runs in demo mode in OMNITREND. Locked functions in demo mode: - Data transfer - Route editor - Creating new measurement tasks Registration to enable device communication Each indivdual device needs a registration password to enable communication (by using ID or serial numbers). Exception is the VIBROSPECT FFT which does not need such a password. =================================================================== --- Update of the OMNITREND software --- =================================================================== !!ATTENTION!! Before you update the OMNITREND software, first check the version no.: If the version < 1.50, you must first update to version 1.50 and then start OMNITREND in order to convert the database. Then, you can update to the latest version. If the version >= 1.50, you can update directly to the latest version. Before you start the update: - Upload all routes and measurement data from the data collector to the PC and save it in the database. - Copy the database (mdb-file)into a temporary folder (backup). ---------------------------------------------------------------- Update from CD ROM Start the OMNITREND Update from the CD. Select the option 'OMNITREND' in the 'Start' screen and then 'Update OMNITREND'. Please note: 1. All update CD's have the serial number 0000000000 2. The database will be converted during the update process as we have changed some of the setups. No data will be lost during the conversion. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Update from the Internet homepage http://www.pruftechnik.com On the OMNITREND download page click on the respective file to download it to your PC. This file contains all the neccessary information to update your OMNITREND installation. Additional components like the latest version of the Online Help and Event files (used for the feature event list - please refer to Online Help) are available for download as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Please note: - The registration passwords for the device types will stay the same. After a new driver is registered the OMNITREND program has to be restarted to get the functionality of the new driver. ================================================================== --- Uninstalling the program --- ================================================================== OMNITREND may be uninstalled automatically using standard Windows procedure: Click onto ‘Start’... ‘Settings’... ‘Add/Remove software’.
